Real Talk, Real Struggles
Oregon Accelerator is a collective that exists to elevate Name, Image, and Likeness opportunities for University of Oregon student-athletes. For Mental Health Awareness Month, we launched a campaign to increase awareness and understanding of mental health among students and student-athletes alike.
No matter what age, gender, occupation, title, or athletic ability, we all go through our own set of struggles—but, we rarely talk about these things. By opening up, we can foster understanding, create connections, and cultivate compassion one conversation at a time.
So...what's the hardest part about being you?
It's a question we asked in every sit-down conversation filmed and one that we wanted to pose to as many people as we could. To do so, we put up installations across the University of Oregon campus with letter writing stations, prompting people to answer for themselves. We anonymously showcased the answers that we collected, and watched from afar as people continued to stop by every week to read the entries and submit their own.
