UNITED AIRLINES

CHICAGO LOVE

When American Airlines announced a major expansion at Chicago O’Hare Airport and added 100 new daily departures, it was clear the turf wars had begun. So… we saw an opportunity to reinforce United Airlines’ status as Chicago’s hometown airline, with no RTBs and no claims. Just big feels. Hence, a found footage spot that spoke to the people that call Chicago home.

Along the journey, we found thousands of photos. I came across tons that made me fall in love with Chicago and the people of Chicago. But like any found footage project, a vast majority didn't end up making it into the cut for various reasons. So I designed a zine. Of all the things we didn't use. Mainly of the shots I loved and couldn't bear losing. Because I think the phrase "kill your darlings" really just means "save them for later."

Zine is showcased up front. TV spot follows after.
